The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo remains confident of Ghana progressing to the knockout phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
According to Otto Addo, he believes team unity and together coupled with good performance from the players will be key to the nation’s quest to earn a ticket to the next stage.

“We are together, it’s a good atmosphere here and the boys are pushing each other. I hope we keep the energy and hopefully we will go far.”

“It’s important to know where you are coming from and I think we have done well though we are not there yet”, coach Otto Addo told ghanafa.org.

“We are gradually picking up and I know the boys will show a lot of fight and a lot of passion. I am sure our efforts will be rewarded and we will go to the next stage.”

The German based trainer further called for the support of Ghanaian fans ahead of the big clash against old rival Uruguay.

“We thank the fans and I know the boys are ready to express their appreciation on the pitch,” the 47-year-old told ghanafa.org.
“We urge the supporters to be behind the team on Friday and hopefully in our subsequent matches.”

The two sides are in search of a ticket to the knockout stage with Ghana in need a victory  to automatically seal their spot in the next round of the tournament.

The game will be a repeat of the 2010 World Cup quarter-final incident which saw Luis Suarez save his side with the handball incident as Ghana eventually bowed out of the tournament on penalty shootouts.
