Black Queens head coach Nora Häuptle has unveiled the provisional squad list for the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers against Guinea.
The Squad includes some notable additions and the return of experienced players to bolster the team’s chances in this crucial campaign.
Northern Ladies and Black Princesses goalkeeper Afi Amenyaku has earned her debut senior call up following her impressive performance at the recent WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup of Nations which was held in Ghana.
Additionally, the return of Ernestina Abambilla, Jennifer Cudjoe, and Alice Kusi adds experience and depth to the squad. After a brief period away, their presence will contribute to the team’s overall strength and cohesion.
The first leg of the qualifiers will be hosted by Guinea on July 10th, with the return leg scheduled for July 18th, 2023 in Ghana. The outcome of this crucial clash will determine which team advances to face the winner of the Guinea-Bissau/Benin fixtures.
Despite their impressive track record in African competitions, the Black Queens of Ghana are yet to secure qualification for the Olympic Games. This campaign presents a golden opportunity for the team to break new ground and make history by earning their first-ever Olympic qualification.
Preparations for the upcoming qualifiers will commence with a training camp starting on Monday, July 3rd, at the GFA Technical Centre (GSCE) in Prampram, with sessions scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
