German Bundesliga side FC Freiburg have announced that Ghana Black Stars midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh tore his cruciate ligament in training and will be out for the rest of the season.

The club confirmed with an official statement that the former St. Pauli man picked up the injury during their Thursday training session.

The 26 year old who played a part in Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar, will be missing the upcoming African cup of nations qualifiers scheduled for March 2023.
Kofi joined the Breisgau-Brasilianer from Bundesliga 2 side St. Pauli on a three-year deal and has featured in twelve Bundesliga games this season in which he scored twice.

Freiburg are 6th on the league table with 34 points in 19games and will take on VFB Stuttgart in their next Bundesliga league game.
