Dutch Champions FC Ajax are reluctant to release Ghanaian sensation Mohammed Kudus for the upcoming AFCON 2021 which kickstarts in 11 days time.

The midfield dynamo has been named in the 30-man provisional Black Stars squad by coach Milovan Rajevac expected for camping in Doha, Qatar as preparations for the tournament staged to be hosted in Cameroon.

However, his club FC Ajax are unwilling to release the midfielder for the Black Stars due to a reoccurring injury which needs proper attention.

Mohammed Kudus picked up an injury in the Black Stars World Cup qualifier game against South Africa months ago and has since been ruled out of action.

FC Ajax wants Kudus to remain at the club’s facility base in Amsterdam and continue with his rehabilitation until he recovers fully and returns to action.

Coach Milovan Rajevac is expected to heed to the plea of FC Ajax and ommit the midfielder from the squad.
