The organization META is looking into the racist messages directed at Dayot Upamecano on social media, which he experienced after Bayern Munich’s loss to Manchester City in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Upamecano played in the game and made a mistake leading to City’s second goal when he was stripped of the ball by Jack Grealish.

After a recent game, a French football player received racist comments on Instagram. A spokesperson from META, the company that owns Instagram, stated that they do not want any racist abuse on their platform and are working to protect their community from abuse. However, they also acknowledge that it will take time to solve this issue and are willing to assist with police investigations.

Bayern expressed their strong condemnation of racism through a comment on Upamecano’s Instagram post. They assured him of their full support and solidarity against such unjustified behavior.

Bayern Munich football club has issued a statement condemning racism and stating their support for Romelu Lukaku, who was sent off after responding to racist abuse during a match. Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, two CBS pundits, had previously defended Lukaku. Bayern will next play against Hoffenheim and then Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final.
