Ghana’s representative in the CAF Champions League Medeama Sporting Club eliminated Remo Stars of Nigeria on penalties to qualify for the second round.
The Yellow and Mauve club went into the game with an advantage 1-0 lead, having won at the Cape Coast in the first leg.
Both sides failed to grab a goal in the first half but the host however managed to take the lead in the second half courtesy an own goal.
The game ended 1-1 after regulation time and had to be separated through penalty shootouts.
Medeama SC emerged victorious after winning the shootouts 3-2 and will take on AC Horoya in the next round of the competition.
