On Thursday, October 5, 2023, the Golden Dream Hotel in Tamale, Ghana, played host to a pivotal occasion in the history of the country’s sporting legacy.
A new era in football was inaugurated during the Ghana Football Association’s Elective Congress, which drew visionaries, stakeholders, and football fans.
The newly elected executive committee, poised to set out on a journey that will shape the future of Ghanaian football, is at the center of this revolution.
The following famous people were appointed to the Executive Council:
James Kwesi Appiah, a former head coach of the Black Stars, won one of the Executive Council seats after receiving 10 votes while running for Asante Kotoko SC.
Additionally, Frederick Acheampong and Nana Yaw Oduro were chosen to serve another four years and this time on the ticket of Dreams Fc and Berekum Chelsea respectively.
Mr Ransford Abbey of Kpando Hearts of Lions and Mr Kingsly Osei Bonsu of Bechem United won the other two slots to constitute the 5member Executive council.
Dr Tony Aubyn and Mr Edmund Ackah lost their slots in the just ended election.
