The Chief executive officer of eGotickets, Mr George Festus Mensah has hit back at critics for labelling them as one of the factors for low turnups at the various stadiums in the ongoing betPawa Premier league season.
According to Mr Mensah, they have no hand in the low patronage of our football but rather outlined measures that can help boost match attendance at our league centres.
“Those who are blaming poor attendance on our services should first ask themselves what was clubs revenue before the introduction of e-tickets and after the service was introduced.”
“All stakeholders should come together and figure out what really the problem is.
The government even acknowledged that through e-ticketing, they have recorded high sales”, he told Kumasi based Akoma FM.
“We should check the time games are played, sometimes we schedule games at 3 pm during working days, also fixtures are changed without proper communication. There times Match venues are changed without proper plans.”
“Government and Clubs must educate their fans on how the service is assessed and undertake major promotion of our games so it can attract people to the stadium.
Low attendance at our game cannot be attributed to e-ticketing. ”
The Ghana Premier League has seen a massive decline in attendance at match venues and seems to have raised a lot of questions from stakeholders in the past weeks.
