Ghanaian international Kwame Peprah scored on his debut for Maritzburg United as they were held to a dramatic 1-1 draw by Amazulu FC in the KwaZulu-Natal derby at the Harry Gwala stadium on Friday night.
Maritsburg United after losing to Chippa United by 1-0 last Sunday had to bounce back to earn a point against Amazulu FC who have been unbeaten since thrashing Kaizer Chiefs by 4-0 on January 13th, 2023.
The former King Faisal goal poacher who is on loan from Orlando Pirates was handed his first start and he repaid the faith handed in him with a 31st minute header.
Peprah’s goal was levelled in the 90+4 minute by Congolese Mabiliso Subisiso when he pounced on a pass in the 18yard box and slot home.
Kwame Peprah was replaced in the 76th minute by Friday Samu.
The 22 year old joined Maritzburg on loan till the end of the season from Orlando Pirates where he struggled for game time.
Peprah scored nine goals in 30 appearances in all competitions and also helped the Pirates to reach the final of the CAF Confederations Cup last season when they lost to Morocco side RS Berkane.
Maritzburg are 14th on the League log with 21points in 19games in the South African premier league.
