Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) president, Kudjoe Fianoo, has reiterated his commitment to hosting a top four competition in the upcoming GHALCA tournament.
Mr. Fianoo emphasized that there will be no compromises, firmly stating that the tournament will feature the top four teams from the just ended Ghana premier league.
‘’This year we are not compromising. We are playing the top four at all costs. We will neither reduce nor increase the number of teams.’’ He reaffirmed in an interview Peace FM
The GHALCA Top 4 is a competition for the best top four teams at the end of the season and it usually serves as a pre-season tournament for clubs.
The former CEO of Ashanti Gold explained that the decision to settle on a top four format was based on the competitiveness observed in previous tournaments.
‘’We have tried the top four, top six, and top eight, and we’ve seen the competitiveness of all which is why we have settled on the top four’’ he added
The eligible teams for the upcoming GHALCA top 4 are Medeama, Bechem, Aduana, and Kotoko.
‘’We have started engaging with sponsors and will soon contact the clubs as well. So we will organise nothing but a top-four competition.’’ He emphasised
