Ghana striker Abdul Aziz Yakubu showcased his scoring prowess for Wuhan Three Towns, but it was not enough to secure a victory as they lost to Shandong Taishan in the China Super League.

In the match held at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Aziz Yakubu netted a consolation goal for Wuhan Three Towns in their 2-1 loss.

Former Everton player Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring for Shandong Taishan in the 49th minute, breaking the deadlock after a goalless first half.

The lead was further extended when Jadson found the net in the 84th minute.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu managed to pull one back for Wuhan Three Towns, scoring in the 94th minute, but it was too late to alter the course of the match, and they ultimately lost 2-1.

This goal takes Abdul Aziz’s tally to an impressive 17 goals in 24 matches across all competitions this season.

He joined Wuhan Three Towns in March 2023 on loan from the Portuguese side Rio Ave and has been a crucial player for the team.

Abdul Aziz played for Charity Stars FC before leaving the shores of Ghana in 2016.
