Accra base, glourious Hearts Of Oak has emerged champions of the Ghana premier league 2020/21 season with a game to spare after 12 good years of wait when last winning it back in 2009.

The club confirmed their grip on the aultimate with a 1-1 draw with regional rivals Liberty Professional at the Accra Sports Stadium on sunday afternoon.

This comes after their closest chanllengers and sworn rivals Asante Kotoko faltered at Bechem as they were beating by 2-1 to Bechem United and perhaps, the result pushed the Phobians beyond reach of Kotoko with only a game to wind up the season.

The Phobians have opened up a 4 point lead at the summit of the league table, sitting with 61 whiles Kotoko trails by 57 points going into their last games which the former plays away to West African football academy (WAFA).

Hearts of Oak, winners of the 2000 CAF Champions League and 2004 CAF Confederation Cup, have the chance of winning double this particular season once they are in the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup.
