Newly appointed Head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has said that he can’t guarantee Ghanaians a trophy in his term as a coach of the Black Stars.
Speaking at his unveiling on Monday morning in Kumasi, the 64year old said that he can only assure a strong side that can compete at any level but not to assure a trophy in his term as the manager.
“No coach can sit here and guarantee a trophy but what I can guarantee is a strong team”, Chris Hughton said at his unveiling as the new Black Stars coach.
The former Irish international further revealed that he will be spending more time in Ghana to monitor the Ghana premier league.
“I will be spending more time in Ghana & be watching more games. I’m constantly being made aware of players who are doing well. I’ll be paying more attention to the local league because it is important that we have a strong local league.”
The former Newcastle United manager was handed a two-year deal as the Black Stars coach which runs until December 31, 2024.
Chris will be assisted by Mas Ud Didi Dramani and George Boateng.
