Liverpool host Manchester City to a 2:2 draw at Anfield on Sunday 3rd October 2021, as Chelsea remains on top of the 2021/2022 Premier league table.
Manchester City and Liverpool had the chance to move on top of the Premier League before the international break but they failed as the blues remains on top after their win against Southampton at the Bridge.
Phil Foden react to the draw he said “It’s very difficult to come here with the fans, it’s one of the most difficult grounds to come to, we dealt with it really well today.
“It had it all, end to end at times, such a brilliant game, we stuck in until the end and we’re happy to get a draw and on another day we’d have got three points.
“I had a couple of chances myself, Kev had a header back post. It was quite disappointing not to go in ahead. We kept the momentum and we came out for the second half and dug in there.”
Pep Guardiola said James Milner should have been sent off for his reckless tackle on Phil Foden.
“What a game. That is the reason the last years Man City and Liverpool were always there because we try to play in this way. Unfortunately, we couldn’t win – but we didn’t lose. He said.
“That’s why the Premier League is the best [that it could go either way]. It was great, really great.
“It is what it is. The result is the result and we cannot change it. I know how difficult it is against these players and this manager. Every time it is incredible challenge for us. The way we played at Stamford Bridge, in Paris and today shows we are a great team. When we lose the way we play in Paris and draw today it is good. I pray we continue and player come back from their national teams safe.”
