Former Ghanaian international and ex-Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah is reportedly in line to return to Asante Kotoko as head coach according to Kumasi based Nhyira FM.
The former Black Stars trainer is believed to have met the leaders of the Manhyia Palace and talks are in advance stage for the his return on a long-term contract.
Kwesi Appiah had his first coaching experience with Kotoko from 1992 to 1995 as an assistant coach before being promoted to head coach from 1995 to 1996.
The former Asante Kotoko defender also served as Ghana’s assistant coach from 2007 to 2012 under Claude le Roy and Milovan Rajevac.
He has also had stints with Kenpong Football Academy and Sudanese side Al Khartoum.
The Asante Kotoko coaching post became vacant after the sacking of Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo after failing to impress the board.
