Asante Kotoko’s upcoming Ghana Premier League clash against Great Olympics has been shifted to the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. This change comes due to pitch maintenance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, as per the Ghana Football Association’s announcement on May 28.

The Baba Yara pitch will be unavailable for domestic competitions until after Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic on June 10th. This relocation allows groundskeepers extra time to ensure the pitch is in top condition for the crucial qualifier.

The game between Asante Kotoko and Great Olympics, originally scheduled for Baba Yara, will now take place on June 2 at the new venue. This decision is part of the GFA’s broader effort to enhance pitch quality and ensure the best possible conditions for the national team’s performance.

Asante Kotoko currently occupies the 9th position on the league table with 43 points, while Great Olympics are fighting to avoid relegation, sitting 16th with 36 points. The relocation adds an interesting twist to the match, as both teams will have to adapt to the new playing environment.
