Former Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng has taken a swipe at the Ghana football association following the elimination of the Black Meteors from the ongoing U23 AFCON championship in Morocco.

Speaking on Joysports on Saturday morning, the former Fulham midfielder said that the FA lacks a lot about their dealings with football and nothing from their books seems to be working for Ghana football.

“For me I think the GFA don’t know what they are doing.  I don’t think the GFA school will help Ghana football”

“The FA owns a lot of players in the national teams and that’s why we don’t perform. When CK Akonnor was there, the FA were telling him the kind of players he should call and when things didn’t go well, they kicked him out”

“It’s about time we start being fair and tough in our decision. We haven’t done enough to be at the Olympic games”, he added.

The Black Meteors of Ghana missed out on qualifying to the next round of the ongoing U23 AFCON championship after a 1-1 draw with Guinea which abruptly ended their hopes for the 2024 Olympic games in Paris, France.
