Graham Potter’s Chelsea are seeking to strike a deal with Argentina midfielder, Enzo Fernández after personal terms agreed.
The world cup winner seemed to have caught the eye of many top clubs after his impressive display in Qatar.
According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the 21 year old has decided to leave Benfica and join Premier League side Chelsea.
Benfica manager Roger Schmidt, when asked about the speculations surrounding Enzo Fernández, he said he will respect the decision of the young midfielder.
“Until December 31 we are sure that we have all the players and nobody can leave. Then the market opens up and when you have players with great talent, you always run the risk of losing players,” he added.
With clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool interested in the Argentina international, the West London Blues are preparing a huge transfer fee for the midfielder who has a €120 million release clause.
Talks ongoing between the clubs to agree a fee but there’s high confidence between all parties a deal can be reached soon.
