Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade has officially submitted a bid to sign Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku from Portuguese club Arouca.
The former Fulham defender was heavily linked to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir but Opoku is believed to have been tempted by UEFA Champions League football actions this season and a deal to join the Serbian side is near.
Jerome joined Portuguese side Arouca in 2022 permanently from English Premier League Fulham, having had stints with Accrington Stanley, Plymouth Argyle and Vejle.
The 24year old centre back is an English born Ghanaian who is both eligible to represent the West African giant as well as England.
Should the deal go through, Opoku will the 3rd Ghanaian to join the club with Osman Bukari and Edmund Addo already making waves in Serbia.
